About Liam Dawson

Liam Andrew Dawson was born on 1 March 1990, in Swindon, Wiltshire, England.

In 2007, during England’s under-19s Test series with Pakistan, he was England’s leading wicket-taker. Dawson made his first-class debut with Hampshire in 2007. He has been playing for Hampshire since then. Dawson has played a total of 177 first-class games till now and scored 8,423 runs at an average of 32.90.

International Career

Liam Dawson made his T20I debut for England on 5 July 2016, against Sri Lanka. 2 months later, he made his ODI debut against Pakistan, on 4 September 2016. He made his Test debut on 16 December 2016, against India.

In 2016, he was selected for England’s squad for the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, although he didn’t play a game for the side.

On 21 May 2019, Dawson was named in the 15-man squad of England for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He was one of two players, along with Tom Curran, who was unused as England won the tournament.

In September 2021, Dawson was named as one of three traveling reserves in England’s squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, though he played no part in the tournament.
